Lego Robotics

What is it?

FLL, or Fist Lego Leauge is an organization that gives kids the oppertunity to build a robot out of legos and program it to do certain things. These are the people who run the lego robotics competitions.

Every year FLL gets a new theme for that year's challanges. There are two main parts to FLL, the robot game which is actually building and coding a lego robot, and then also the innovation project.

The Robot game

Between the two aspects of lego robotics, The Robot Game is the simpler of the two. Your robot needs to complete different missions to score points, which are counted at the end of the two and a half minute round. Your robot has to return to certain area if you want to touch it. If you do touch it without you get docked 5 points.

The Innovation project

The innovation project is the more complicated and difficult part of FLL. The project is to find and solve a problem from a prompt FLL gives you. For example, 2018's prompt was "Identify a physical or social problem faced by humans during long duration space exploration." Teams would think of problems with long duraiton space exploration and make a project about that.
