Hi my name is Jaleah and I attend the Impact academy. A career I would like to take on is being a Teacher, I do not know what subject I would like to teach yet but I am soon to find out. For college options I would like to go to either Youngstown university or Kent state to get a Teaching degree and a Masters degree. I would like to be a teacher because I love watching little kids learn and if I had to pick a grade to teach it would have to be in between 1st and 3rd grade. I also love teaching my little siblings how to read and I even teach them how to talk which is very exciting for me. What's super exciting is getting kids out of their comfort zone and making them feel safe which is needed for kids who just started school.
As a student Im very energetic and ready to work. Math to me is kind of a challenge but I can always get past. My favorite subject is science. What I love about science is the projects, and experiments. The other subjects are pretty decent. I feel as if im doing a tad bit better in my classes since everyone is settling in. All my classes I take: Humanities, Math, Problem based learning, Science, Stem Immersion, and we also have clubs. Some academic areas that I am interested in are Science, and engineering majors. I am interested in those majors because I love building and I also like doing math problems. I gained the most satisfaction in humanities class because it's very interesting and we always try and make our work fun.
Some of the activities I have done throughout middle school includes, Student council (giving to the homeless), and Girls on the run. A community service project I did was with my school, we cleaned Oak Hill ave in youngstown. I have worked in a concession stand for fun work experience. One hobby that I have had for 6 years is cheerleading because I love cheering and getting everyone's spirit up. A previous hobby I have had is baseball, I have took on that hobby for 6 years, but stopped last year. This year I also started playing volleyball which was a very fun experience and I will be doing it next year.These hobbies took me out of my comfort zone and made me feel like I can be a very good person in life. Now I love cheering, im not into baseball anymore but miss it a little.
