Andromeda galaxy

Andromeda is the nearest galaxy from the Milky way.It is a spiral galaxy approximately 780 kiloparsecs from earth. Its name stems from the area of the Earth's sky in which it appears, the constellation of Andromeda.

The Collision

The Andromeda-Milky Way collision is a galactic collision predicted to occure in 3.75 billion years from now.Currently the Milky Way is moving about 250,000 miles per hour, this is fast enough for us to travel from the earth to the moon in one hour! When they collide the result would be a giant elliptical galaxy
