When first introduced in 1989, the Dodge Ram 3500 diesel came with a 5.9L Cummins turbo diesel and came with 160 horsepower and 4000 lbs. of toque. In 1989 the truck was awarded "Best in Class." In 2016 the ram 2500 had a 6.7 Cummins turbo engine. It is also quite fascinating how 85% of all Ram Heavy Duty truck have a diesel engine in it.
Even though the two engine are quite similar, there are also many differneces. Deisel engine are designed to for much higher compression.
Diesels might be a little more expensive, but are worth it in the long run. I love the way they sound and how they drive. I'm trying to convince others to start driving them or at least get a truck. There are many perks of driving a diesel like in my other pages. My brother in law actually convinced me to get into truck. Since that I loved trucks. I personally don't know why but every time I see a truck that either stands out or just looks good in general, I have to point it out.
