Hedgehogs are becoming more and more popular, however, hedgehogs are still considered an exotic animal. Hedgehogs are not commonly found in the wild. The little that do live in the wild live about 4-7 years. Luckily, a hedgehog in captivity can live up to 14 years! Hedgehogs in captivity and the wild eat some of the same foods. Hedgehogs in the wild eat mostly bugs,with a mix of plants. Hedgehogs in captivity can eat just the same, or even cat/puppy food. it really depends on if you want your hedgehog on a wild or less expensive diet.
