What snakes eat

Snakes eat lots of things including small rodents insects and even the occasional golfball. The species of snake determins what the snakes diet is.

boa

A snake eats its prey whole and swallows it down its body, to keep its food from sliping out of its mouth its fangs are rear facing so it can't escape. Often times you can see the food going down its body. There will be a tiny bump, it will slowly move down it's body. The snake digests the food by acids like us. It takes the snake about ten days to digest it's food. Depending on the type of snake it could eat again in a couple of days or even in a year.
