Here’s a short summary of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder:

Pip is out to graduate high-school, but before she does, she has to commit herself to a summer thesis - about something that’ll shake the foundation of her small-town life. The story is: a girl named Addie Bell is killed by her best friend, Sal Singh, who commits suicide to avoid being jailed. Pip knows better, after her one-time meeting with the Singh family and Sal’s younger haunted brother, Ravi. Ravi is still as determined as Pip to spare his brother’s name from public outcasting and hate. The two of them are out to gather clues on who they think actually killed Addie Bell, but the thing is, if Sal truly didn’t kill Bell, there’s another murderer out on the loose. A murderer who knows about Pip and Ravi sniffing up the past.

Here's a short review of the novel:

I was first hesitant because of the cringe-like title because it sounded cliche and bland to my ears.. However, in essence, the novel put away my low expectations and introduced - more like slammed - a murder mystery, a thriller, and some academic vibes. Pip is very resourceful, incredibly intelligent, and painfully realistic, making it easy for the reader to root for her. The other characters were not as dynamic, but they shined. This book has multiple plot twists, but at the end, when the true killer is revealed, there is not one but two twists, and it was so satisfying to have it finally revealed. The story is also set up in a true crime podcast-like way
