Here’s a short summary of Legend:

In a United States that has been split into west and east - the Republic and the Colonies - two individuals from two different worlds must join together to unearth the plot of both countries and a murder plot rooted deep into the warring countries. June Iparis is from high society, who is the only person who’s scored a perfect score on a deadly Trial, making her a soon-to-be recruit in the Republic’s military. She’s heard of tales of Day, the most wanted criminal in the Republic, and is determined to catch him. However, when her brother is murdered, she becomes even more angry and bellicose for the prime suspect: Day.

Here's a short review of the novel:

As the very first dystopian novel I’ve ever read, Legend has a special place in my heart as it introduced some interesting concepts, had simplistic reading that made it easy to read, and the characters were so well-developed and interesting to read about. The character Day is a criminal who acts as a Robin Hood-like figure in this dystopian and sci-fi society, who has threadbare pockets and a heart of gold. Meanwhile, June is deadly and calculated, the darling of her country, who is pampered to become a weapon of fighting and a tool of war, unable to break free of her metaphorical chains. They both mashed well, their differences highlighting their similarities and vice versa. I really appreciated the military references, the allusions to the Thirteen Colonies, and the description of the world of riches and poverty they lived in. It - all in all - was an engaging read that I reread twice.
