Here’s a short summary of Legendborn:

After her mother died in an accident, Bree has long since kept the remnants of her past behind cold doors and locks. Bree then attends a college where on day one, she’s wrapped up in a scheme like no other - the knights of Arthur exist, there are supernatural demons flying about, killing and causing havoc, and Bree is somehow still dealing with the pull-away between the people she cares about. Bree needs to handle her past and finally come to terms with herself, while becoming a vicious fighter.

Here's a short review of the novel:

One of the one good things to march out of 2020, Legendborn was a book that fit a certain type of dim, dark aesthetic moodboard. With demons and characters that are in depth and interesting to read, this novel managed to pull me in with one fell swoop - by chapter five, I was all over the book and its intricate magic system. Bree is a complex heroine, who is fierce and passionate, though there is pain on every crinkle in her brow. The other character - Nick - is the golden boy of the college, though he is more than a goody-two-shoes; this character has depth and makes the reader think twice about blandness. The last character is half-demon, half-knight (his name being Sel), and he provides the reader with dark, dry humor and interesting character dynamics. This whole book kept me on my toes, talking about the complexities of hope, grief, and separation.
