Here’s a short summary of The Diabolic:
In an alternate universe, every planet-slash-kingdom has a ruler, destined for fame and glory. However, when a princess’s life is put in danger, her personal companion - a genetically engineered robot - must take her place. The robot must keep up appearances and emotions, lest she be discovered as an imposter. The robot’s name is Nemesis - this is her story.
Here's a short review of the novel:
Though this was, by no means, an emotional book, there was one scene in this heart-hijacking, thrilling sci-fi novel that put me into a deep state of thought, prickles erupting in my chest like heated lava. It was about how Nemesis, cold and emotionless and a robot, was accused of not being able to feel by her princess-companion. It just hit me at a sore spot. The story, for a sci-fi, had a royal aspect, which gave it a unique twist in the genre of sci-fi, and yet, it fit like a messy puzzle, beautiful for its flaws. The language was coarse but angelic at some times; it might provoke a guttural reaction of empathy from readers, just as the main character had her moments of emotion.
