Intro:

The project aims to mainstream MDGs in local development planning, policy making and Programme/project implementation. Towards the end, localization efforts will be intensified to promote and foster synergy and broad-based collaboration among stakeholders in aligning policies and plans and in mobilizing resources towards accelerating the achievements of the MDGs (UNDPPH, 2020).

Their Approach with the Project:

This project plans to localize poverty reduction by aims to ensure that processes for adequate, efficient and prompt delivery of basic services to the poor are in place. Not only that, but they also address the goal of harnessing the potential of overseas remittances for poverty reduction and consequently, local economic development (UNDPPH, 2020).

What have they Achieved with this Project:

The Philippine Poverty-Environment Initiative focuses on poverty reduction and sustainable development by integrating pro-poor agenda and environmental concerns into development planning and decision-making process. It aims at demonstrating that, if managed properly and sustainably, natural resources can propel the country to a path of an inclusive and sustainable development (UNDPPH, 2020).
