Sailboats are designed so well they almost cross the laws of physics because something so big shouldn't be able to travel across the water that fast with no motor only using the wind. Sailboats were and are amazing forms of transportation. The average sailboat has
You are probably thinking why did you tell me that the picture is right there but, I will tell you what they do. A rutter is basically the steering wheel but for sailboats. The boom is a large metal stick that stretches the sail out that can give you a concussion when the wind switches and that connects to the mast and the mast is the tall, metal bar that keeps the entire boat together and holds the sails up. The keel is like a stabilizing rutter on the bottom on the boat that you can't move. The jib is the smaller sail that helps the bigger sail get more air easier and does part of the moving itself but the jib is usually on bigger boats so if you are on a small boat you will most likely not have a jib. The mainsail is just the main sail, thats it. The bow is the front part on the boat that is usually pointy so that it minimizes the drag.
