Water Conservation

Image description

Water is a gem worth conserving that we generally take for granted. Ecspecially in America. Our world is made up of 97% salt water, 2% freshwater, and 1% can be used for drinking. If we only have 1% of the Earth's water for drinking, we need to conserve it.

People use water for drinking, making just about everything, bathing, pools, watering plants, cooking food, washing your hands, water slides, and more. When we do these tasks, we generally use more than necessary. A lot of people leave the water faucet on very frequently. 928 million gallons of water would be wasted if every sink in AMerica was leaking. Not only is that a waste of water, but it is also sad because it is people just being lazy. If a faucet is leaking, it wastes 100 gallons of water everyday. We need to be more careful about how we use it and why we use it.

If you leave the faucet running while you brush your teeth, five gallons water get wasted. Why do you need to leave the water running? You aren't even using it until you rinse your toothbrush.

Instead of taking baths, use the shower. Taking a bath takes 36 gallons while a 5 minute shower only takes 15-25 gallons. If you shower, try to only take about to 5 minutes. If you take 10 minutes, you could use 40 gallons of water. 5 minutes could make all the difference.
