Dinosaurs are a diverse group of animals, with different species appearing in various geological time periods. These gigantic creatures used to roam the Earth from 230 to 66 million years ago. There are more than 1500 dinosaur fossils spread throughout the world today.
What did these geologic giants eat? It is a common misconception that they only ate meat and other animals, when in fact herbivores and omnivores existed alongside carnivores.
All the dinosaurs consumed plants, but not all of them were herbivores. Herbivorous dinosaurs included the titanosaur, sauropod, and stegosaur. Herbivorous birds like cassowaries also exist today.
