Overview | Setting Up The Board | Pawn | Knight | Bishop | Rook | Queen | King |
---|
The Queen is a chess piece located next to the king in the middle of the back row. The queen has extreme mobility and can easily punish an opponent's mistake.
Queens can move anywhere in their diagonal and linear line of sight; a queen has both the moveset of a bishop and a rook. Queens can be blocked by both ally and enemy pieces. If the tile they move to is occupied by an enemy piece, the enemy piece is captured and the queen will move to the tile. Queens cannot move to the same tile as an ally piece.
Because of its insane powers of mobility, the queen is the ultimate piece to clean up unprotected pieces and can easily move into and out of enemy backlines. It is very hard to capture because it can escape almost any situation, making it the highest valued piece other than the king. The queen should be protected well because losing it may cost you the game.
