Elevator Hitch story and endings

Story

Protag is just a dude who saw an ad for a job in the newspaper and took up the offer. when he gets in the elevator to go to his interview he gets stuck in there and starts dying. over and over and over again. He is always coming back and redoing his whole thing. it doesnt help that the coworker he got stuck with is stuck up and striaght up rude. so when he dies and resets again and he tries to tell his coworker whats going on he has no idea what Protag is talking about. oh well. he will find his own way out of here. his loss.

Canon Facts about characters

Protag

1. Protag is canonicly a lightweight and goes drinking with Coworker after work. this is also shown in Rachels 2024 art. you can see Protag and Coworker in the background with alchol and Protag looking very tipsy
2. On the fourth floor, when he sees a door that looks like his old place he goes stiff and seems to get extremely anxious
3. Protag seems to get very uncomfortable entering the room on the 4th floor and interacting with things like the cross above the bed
4. Rachel stated on her Tumblr that Protags name wont ever be revealed, in her words, his name "wont ever be revealed because every time he tries to he gets interrupted by the co-worker or a bus passing by or other badly timed events."

Coworker

1. Any name he says isnt his actual name. Rachel admited to just taking those names from a website for top 60 male douchebag names
2. Rachel doesnt plan on ever revealing his name. cause he doesnt have one.
3. hes the kind of guy to drink on the clock

Normal Guy

1. Normal Guy has had an entry on Sexypedia, a Wiki dedicated to documenting characters described as fitting a "sexyman archetype.", since 2023.
2. in relation to the last fact, Normal Guy also got some votes to apart of Sexyman zine. but didnt receive enough to make the cut
3. Rachel said in the official Discord that she imagines Normal Guy's age to be 30-1000+ years.
4. There was an idea for a possible run where Coworker was replaced with Normal Guy, but it was scrapped

Fake Protag

Fake Coworker

• I dont know much about these two. but I felt they should be put here

Endings

Ending 1: Escape

pass the interview with Normal Guy and get the key. getting the key will let you go down to the first floor and walk towards the exit. you'll bump into someone and he will manipulate you into staying.

Ending 2: Hole

on floor 2 interact with the hole and give it anything but the rat, A hand will come out and grab Protag

Ending 3A: Dark

walk into floor three twice and you just die. too dark too see anything.

Ending 3b: Eaten

Lighting the lighter after getting it from coworker will reveal the floor, feed the floor anything but the drugged cake and it will eat you. chomping you in half

Ending 4: Parents

On floor 4 interact with anything but the drawers, bed, and under the bed three times. the elevator door will close behind Protag after the door in the room opens.

Ending 5: Radiation

This is quite literally just radiation poisioning on floor 5

Ending 6: Rejected

When doing the job application in the office of foor 6, not selecting the answers C.A.C.E will end up in the form being rejected and your body being split in half after the rejected form being magicly torn in half

Ending 7: Butchered

when you get the scissors, interact with the LEFT (not right) carcess. you get a facefull of rotting guts and meat hooks come down and drag you away to use your guts as a replacement for the rotting ones

Ending 8: Stranger Danger

To get this ending you have to interact with the dopplegangers on floor 8, they will shove Protag and Coworker into the fake elevator and close the doors on them. this ending is inavoidable.

Ending 9: Fall

This ending happens on floor 9. if you try to walk into the "room" Normal Guy is in then you will end up falling into the endless void below and the elevator is reset again

Ending 10: Help

If you try to talk to the intercom when the elevator is first reset then you will talk to a guy on the other end call Manuel. if you follow his instructions the elevator doors will open and the people on the other side blows Protag and Coworkers off while two gunshots are heard.

Ending 11: No Smoking

This ending happens if you click on the no smoking sign and ask Coworker for a light if you dont have the ciggerette from floor 6. if you choose to try and take the lighter from Coworker he will drop his lit ciggerette and accidently light the elevator on fire

Ending 12: Real

This ending happens after you close the doors on the dopplegangers. Protag gets suspisious of Coworker and you have the option to trust Coworker or not to. if you choose not to then you end up killing Coworker with your new scissors

Ending 13: Hired

you have to fail the interview on floor 9 to get this ending. this ending is where Normal Guy seems to rip Protags Face off after saying "Im afraid in order for you to work here we'll have to make some changes... Here, let me lend you a hand-" and the final screen before getting reset is a picture of Protag with a similar colorscheme to Normal Guy with a smile plastered on his face and X's where his eyes were.

Ending 14: ???

Ending 14 is when you complete all the other endings. the elevator doors turn into fire escape doors. if you click on them the screen fades to black and you just hear running footsteps get closer. but nothing ever happens
