Who is Affected?

How many people lack access to basic drinking water and sanitation? An estimated 2.2 billion people lack access to safely managed water. Currently there is an estimated 884 million people in the world without basic drinking water. Another 4.2 billion people don’t have access to safely managed sanitation. Finally, an estimated 3 billion people don’t even have access to a basic handwashing system. It is said that 1 in 3 people globally don’t have access to safe drinking water. Trying to increase access to water isn’t enough, if the water is not safe to drink, bathe in, or limited then we aren’t delivering for our people and children. A large portion of those people live in Africa, in places like Uganda, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

What kind of people are affected by this problem? To some people water is just an ordinary drink that they usually drink every basic day, overlooking about how dire it is they casually drink this, to some other people it is dire to have that drink of just clean water and most times that is rare to get even to drink it for their daily needs to live. There are people who are so fortunate to eat and drink a full three meals on the regular day but yet don’t seem to look at how big this problem is actually worldwide, people look as if it doesn’t happen to them it is not as big of an issue right? Ultimately this issue has been a long one that is a mass wide problem to big populations of people. But the question is what kind of people? What are those “some” people that are suffering with this issue for a basic necessity to live, well people who are overlooked it seems that live in even terrible conditions. It seems that the most affected place would exactly be Africa which is the place media also covers the most over, with all it’s countries there are major places that lack clean water and proper sanitation for their water, other places can be like the Dominican Republic which is slightly apart of the U.S but suffers from this problem as well as many places do. As you can notice with all these countries that are affected it seems like the ones affected are more 3rd world countries that compared to some place like the U.S is much different to how they live but also how they receive help and how they are backlashed with how most people live. Even if they are a 3rd world country they can be able to get clean water nevertheless but it is the problem of negligence of other people or governments to know and take care of issues like this as well as just being unfortunate enough to not get what you need. There is also the issue like minorities of course where they also don’t receive or get help they need with what they are dealing with just because of where they come from and how they basically look, which then pushes more demand for equality just for these groups of colored people, poor countries, people apart of certain religion, and etc. just a example of how this could affect many. But not just people like this are suffering all kinds can be to with different situations but the main fact of not safe water to live off of so people that can be affected is everyone in conclusion.
