These rabbits originated in the Netherlands, hence the name. They were originally small polish rabbits bred with wild rabbits.
Netherland dwarf rabbits are less suitable than then holland lop rabbits as pets, as they are smaller and do not enjoy being picked up. This may make them less enjoyable as pets for kids.
