How Football Evolved!

Now we are at the point where footbal started to really devolpe. From 1933–1969, where it started to really change from a sport based off rugby and soccer to its own indapendint sport. It all start in the early 1930s where the collage game grew massivly. especily in the south, and bosted by rivelrys like virginia and north carolina and others like georgia and Auburn. In the 1930s saw a growth in the passing game. In 1934 the rules were changed that 2 massive penlties were removed. 1 being the loss of 5 yards after a second incomplete pass in any of the 4 downs and the other being a passing of the ball to the other team after aa incomplete pass at the end zone. The ball was also shrunk to make it easier to grab and throw. When it came to WW2, football player enlisted into the armed forces, some playing in eroupe after the war. As most of these players left collage to enlist, some returned to westpoint to finish their collage careers. In January of 1956, bobby grier the first black football player to participate in the sugar bowl. He is also regarded as the first black person to complete a bowl game in the deep south.
