- The term "Food Deserts" are areas where people might ot be able to meet their nutritional needs due to a lack of fresh and healthy food.
- The most concentrated Food Deserts in the United States are within urban and rural communities.
- When people don't get the amount of fresh food they need, they can take on diet-related health problems such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
- People living in Food Deserts can have a harder time getting job and education opportunities, leading to them having little to no options to escape their situation.
- A lack of grocery stores and public transportation are main factors in the growth of Food Deserts across the United States.
