Mothman is a giant, pitchblack, red-eyed man with wings. Sometimes people picture him with moth wings, sometimes with bird wings. The bird wings may come from the fact that it was just a black mass when people "saw it" in West Virgina in 1966 and 1967.
The mystery of Mothman started in Point Pleasant, West Virginia on November 12, 1966 when Mothman was "spotted." That spotting lead to a newspaper article stating that couples all over the United States were seeing giant bird/moth people.
But, that's not all. In 1967, people linked it to the Silver Bridge Collapse as it was "seen" in that area before that devastating event. But, some of the people who saw it, were proven to be a petrified, (so they were terror striken and couldn't think) liars, or mentally ill. But, of course not all witnesses were.
But, luckily, Mothman was noticed as fake, but some people still do believe it is real. Those peple claim it as being an alien, (as they 'saw' UFOs around the time of the bridge collapse) an secret government weapon, and like stated before a giant black mass of destruction.
