Hitting is not that easy, but it might be to some people. The softball feild is shaped like a dimaond, At the top of the feild is a thing called a "home plate". There is a left-handed box, and a right-handed box.

As you see above this is how you stand when you hit. In hitting you have three strikes ans four balls. Three strikes is when you swing and miss three times. balls is when ball that are not in the strike zone. If you are wondering what a strike zone is, it is a rectangular shape that a pitcher has to threw the ball in for the ball to count at a strike.
