During 1947, the united Nations adopted resolution 181,commenly known as the Partition plan which was suppose to divide the british mandate of palestine into an Arab and Jewish state. So on May 14,1948 the state of israel was first created, and so was the begining of the war

In Israel about 6,375 people died and for palestinian 30,000-16-000 people died in the 1948 war. But recently around 50,000 people died in Gaza most of them being under 18
