Byakuya Togami was born into a rich family. His family owned lots of companies around the world. They had one major company that they earned more money from and it would be passed down to Togami or his siblings. His father made them particapate in a cruel bloodbath for the Heir. Togami and his siblings would have to kill eachother to become the owner of the buisness. Togami came out on top, after killing all of his siblings he obtained the ownership of the buisness. But when Junko is revealed near the end of the game, she comfirms that his entire family, coworkers and employees are dead so he loses his title of being the Highschool Level Ultimate Affluent Progeny.
Byakuya has a demanding and bratty kind of personality. In the game, he makes every trial harder than it needs to be just because he wanted to. He's rude to everyone around him and has a snarky attitude.
Togami is another one who never had friends growing up. He insisted that owning and running the buisness was a lot more important that hanging out with anyone. Lots of people wanted to be his friend, but he always shut them down harshly, he always thought they were trying to take advantage of him because he was one of the richest people in his school. Being one of the 6 survivors in the game and an important part of the Future Foundation, he learns to start caring about people. He becomes friends with everyone in the foundation.
At first his goal was to be the most sucessful member of his already rich and famous family. But since Junko destroyed the whole world, he and the other members of future foundation goal is to stop her and saved the already ruined world
At first , I thought Togami was extremely annoying because he kept ruining all of the trials. Then as I continued playing the other games, I grew to like his character design and his backstory. I also like how at first he was an Major Antagonist but the he sort of changed into an Major Protagonist. His whole redemption arc was pretty good and I liked his character development.
