Celestia was given the name Taeko Yasuhiro at birth. But since she deemed the name boring and common, she told others that her name was Celestia Ludenberg. She wanted others to visualize her as a glamorous member of some sort of royalty with a lavish and perfect life, so she lied about her father being a member of a french nobility. She also lied that her mother is German musician who comes from a line of other German musicians. She dreamed of living a luxirous lifestyle, filled with any material thing she wanted so she picked up the hobby of gambling and beat almost all of her opponents.
While gambling she realized that she had an amazing talent of lying with a poker face. After realizing that, she became a lot more cruel to the people she lost to. Humiliating them and making them serve her was her punishments for trying to throw her off the "Gambling Throne" which is what she called it. She considered herself the "Gambling QUeen."
Celestia appears to have a calm demeanor, but she loses her temper way too quickly. In the third chaptor of the game, she kills two people and attempts to frame it on Yasuhiro Hagakure since they had the same name. Though her plan was genius, she accidently let out that she killed two people before they found the other body. Makoto quickly caught on to her slip up and held her accountable. In response, she just lost her temper and began yelling at everyone in sight. Though, at the end of her tantrum she does admit that she killed Hifumi and Taka. She is an major antagonist.
After admitting to killing Hifumi and Taka, she also admits that she wants to die in a unique way. So Monokuma decides to let her think that he was going to burn her as if she was a witch. But nearly as she dies, she gets hit by a car which is a common way to die. She feels a load of despair which is exactly what the mastermind wants.
Celestia's goal before she died was to make everyone believe that she was all around perfect. She wanted people to see and treat her as royalty so she took on a fake european accent and changed her name to sound more classy and unique.
I loved Celestia's character design and her personality. I also loved how confident she was in herself. Though she was rude to Hifumi and treated him like garbage, she became one of my favorites because of her trial. Her trial was overall one of the most interesting and unpredictable trials.
