Welcome to a galaxy far far away, or at least to far away so we actually can’t go there. So if your here then you're familiar with Brink of The Empire probably and you’re eager to start roleplaying? Perhaps that’s you but remember you need to be ready for everything and this guideline will help you live a life in a not so unfamiliar place far far away.
You might think that Star Wars is different, that anything can happen here, though remember that a stormtrooper is pretty much a real life soldier. The Empire isn’t this unstructured idiots, they have a real rank system and a strict army. The Empire isn’t too far from a real world nation, and that’s why I want to explain to you how Brink of the Empire's rank system works.
So let’s begin my young padawan, because there is a lot to learn. To begin with, there are two branches, the navy and the army. These two handle different aspects of the Empire's armed forces. So to begin with I will cover what the army does. Firstly, they handle ground combat basically trooper against trooper.
The army is basically your every day soldiers that save the day in case of invaders, they visit worlds all over the galaxy and fight for “justice” and “peace”. Now this sounds more like a imperial propaganda poster but it’s pretty much what the army does, now they don’t only handle this things but a part from that they actually also act as a police force sometimes, in case of like a mass prison escape for example, or in the slummy dark corners of Coruscant, that’s where the army comes in.
Now next up is the navy. The navy is basically your space armada, your ship to ship combat force, your space fighter force, well you get it. They're job is to find and eliminate hostile threats in space, but also patrol space routes, and map out the unknown parts of the galaxy. They keep track of space routes and infastructure, but also space traffic. Sometimes they also act as a blockade force and control what ship get in and out of a system. The navy is flexible and has many jobs in it.
You are probably wondering right now how long one month takes in the RP. Well, one month is seven days in real life.
The RP time is set a few years after Order 66 around 10bby. The Empire rose to power and the Rebel cells are forming a revolution. Many Jedi masters and apprentices died, however there are few Jedi that survived and are teaching the way of the force. It's up to you to make a decision to join as a valiant soldier for the Empire or become a rebellious freedom fighter for the Rebellion.
So you have come this far, what now? Well you got to make a character of course, but you are probably wondering what rank should you assign to your trooper? Well worry no more, that’s why your here in this guideline!
Your first rank in the Empire or Rebellion would be Trooper, Recruit, Midshipman, or Pilot. You would be then later promoted by your commander.
So you want someone dead or captured, huh? Well as long as you can pay you can continue to read. The first thing to take note of is that bounties can only be taken by licensed Imperial bounty hunters.
Therefore only a handful of people can do this type of work, it’s important to also take note of the payment because a bounty hunter won’t do anything for free. If you want to set up a bounty you need to set up a contract on the market, if a bounty hunter finds the contract they can sign it, and go out hunting and you get what you want, good right?
