Here I will try to explain the gameplay of Conter Strike
Counterstrike is a 5v5 FPS. Every competetive match is a best of 30 where first to 16 wins. There can also be a tie if both teams get 15 rounds. Each round has a timer for 1 minute and 55 seconds. Both teams have to do their objective to win the round, but their objectives clash so there can only be 1 winner. Theres a team switch at 15 rounds.
There are two teams in CSGO: The Terrorist team and the Counter Terrorist team. The objective of the Terrorist team is to plant the bomb in the bomb site and guard it until the 40 second timer runs out, or eliminate the whole Counter Terrorist team. The objective of the Counter Terrorist team is to either eliminate all of the terrorists or defuse the bomb before it blows up.
Most maps in CSGO are slightly in favor of the Counter Terrorists. This is because the counter terrorists start the round with full acces to the bomsite. The reason this is good for the Counter Terrorists is because they can choose any position to guard the site from. It is also generally easier to defend a site than to take it. But this doesnt mean anything if the Terrorist team knows what they are doing. There are 2 bomb sites in every CSGO map (bombsite A and bombsite B). Since there are only 5 Counter Terrorist, there is ussually 2 on A-site, 2 on B-site and 1 in middle.
There are 34 weapons in CSGO ranging from weak pistols to incredibly powerful sniper rifles that can 1 shot enemies. Overall, the Terrorist team has better weapons like the AK-47 and all of the Terrorist weapons also cost less. The AK-47 is considered to be the second best gun in the game due to its really high standing accuracy and its 1 shot headshot ability. The Counter Terrorist counterpart for the AK-47 is called the M4-A4. This gun is not great because it takes 2 headshots to kill and its costs more than the AK-47. The AK-47 may be a good gun, but it cant compare the the AWP. The AWP is the best gun in CSGO and but also one of the most expensive. It is so good that some players can only use this gun and no others. The reason this gun is so good, is because it is a 1 shot kill to anywhere except the legs. This gun can be used as an offensive and deffensive gun. There are also a wide variety of SMG (sub machine guns). These guns are cheap, they do alot of damage close range, they have a high rate of fire, and they give a high kill reward (money gained from each kill). There are also a wide variety of pistols but most of they arent too important, but there is one pistol that is considered to be the AWP of pistols. This pipstol is called the "Dessert Eagle" or Deagle for short. The reason this pistol is so good, is because it can 1 shot headshot an enemy even if they have head armour. So it is possible for you to 1 shot an AWP player who spent 6,000 dollars on their weapon and armour. There are also shotguns in the game but they are ussually pretty useless because they are very situational.
Each gun in CSGO has a recoil pattern that make the bullets go all over the place even if you stand still. To control recoil, you need to do the inverse of the pattern. Refer to the video sources at the bottom for more information
There are also grenades in CSGO. There are 5 different types of them.
The flashbang grenade, when thrown properly, can completely blind an enemy and mute their audio. If you get "flashed" in the open you are dead meat. If the flashbang is thrown incorrectly, you can blind your self or your teamates and then YOU will be deat meat. There is only one way you can dodge a flashbang, you can look away from it and it wont blind you as much. Flashbangs are incredibly powerful tools that, when used properly, can lead to many kills and win rounds in a game. HE Grenades (High Explosive Grenades) are pretty self explanatory, they are grenades that are highly explosive. When thrown properly they can deal 50 damage to an armoured player and about 75-80 damage to an unarmoured player. Smoke grenades are the most important and usefull grenade. In lower levels of play smoke grenades seem useless, but in high levels of play they can determine the winner of entire games. Smoke grenades create a cloud of opaque grey smoke that cuts of line of sight. This can be usefull against AWP players and even rifles. They basically errect a wall that lasts 20 seconds and this is very usefull for taking a bombsite. Molotovs are also self explanatory, they are basically fire grenades that deal high damage to anyone that stands inside the flames. They are used the clear out positions that are hard to clear out with a gun. Last and definitely least is, the decoy grenade. This grenade make decoy noise and it can be thrown anywhere on the map. The decoy noise never works because you can tell that its fake with ease. The only slightly usefull funtion is that you can use it as a fake flash to make player look away. I have 1075 hours in the game and its only worked for me 3 times.
Im not going to go to deep into the in game economy because if you dont play the game it will seem incredibly boring. In the first round of the game each player starts of with $800. The only thing you can buy with $800 is an upgraded pistol or a few grenades, but most players ussually buy armour. This is called the "pistol round". The winner of the pistol round will most likely win the next 2 rounds because of how the ecomony works. For example, lets say the counter terrorist team win the pistol round. In the next round they will get $3500 for each player and any money from kills is extra. This means that they can buy SMG's or even some cheap rifles. But the terrorist team will get only $1900 because they lost. The terrorist team will most likely "save" this means that they wont buy any weapons, grenades, or armour. Because of this, the counter terrorists will win the second round as well. The third round will also most likely be a save round which means that the counter terrorists will win round 3 as well. That is a basic exmaple of the CSGO economy. There are many more things you can do, like, Eco buy, force buy, and deagle buy.
In csgo there are many maps you can play on. There are currently 12 regularly played maps, but in total there are 30-40 maps. Each map is visually different as well as having slightly different gameplay. Even with over 1000 hours in the game I dont know all the maps. Its really hard to master all of them, it can take years of playing. Here are a few pictures.

Or this video without swearing, but its really old.
Here are a few videos of me playing the game and a few of my highlights (you need to manually unmute the videos, they are muted by default).
