In the movie Brave, there are little creatures called wisps. What if wisps are younger versions of new souls? They are both sort of cloudy, blue and glow a little. The wisps are slightly smaller than new souls, and are darker too, so they must be a little younger. Maybe the wisps are training to be a new soul. Once they have completed training or get older, they could become new souls which is like the next level of training. It is kind of like school. When you are very young you go to daycare.
