The cardiovascular system is the supposed "main" system of your body that keeps you alive! The system contains veins, blood vessels, capillaries, arteries, and most importantly..(drumroll please) YOUR HEART! You probably already know that, but whatever. Your cardio (short for cardiovascular) system pumps bloods through and to every and I mean EVERY part and inch of your body to not only keep you alive, but for body warmth too! Arteries take blood from the heart, valves help direct the blood, and veins take it straight back. Blood velocity is how long it takes for the blood to hop back and forth through your body and to just put it in perspective, your heart beat 60-100 beats per minute! If you think that's fast, think about that when you're running or sprinting!
And behold and admire upon, the thing some (keyword, some) of you have...The legendary brain! Your brain is way more amazing than what you think. It's honestly pretty impressive. Your brain weighs about 3 pounds, but for dudes, it may be a little bigger. But, if you thought just because your brain is bigger, you're smarter than most, then I think your ego's a bit bigger too. But in all seriousness, your brain is the reason for almost evrything you do! Talk, eat, sleep, think, read, and move. Brain information can travel up and back at a astonishing 350 MPH when it needs to tell your body what to do. Your brain is quite the resillent organ, especially with all it's parts. The cerebellum helps you focus on balance and most of your coordination, the frontal lobe is more like the leader. Taking charge, solves problems, has a personality, and many other things. The temporal lobe is like sensory input and output. Hearing, sight, taste, touch, smell, and your feelings. So, whenever you smell something bad, your brain is probably telling you that it smells horrible (and maybe even your nose too.)
You see, yor organs can do many and different functions. Such as sorting blood, sorting out germs, and even doing things you didn't know you body could do in the first place. Since we already talked about your brain and heart, let's talk about some of your other organs. Your lungs for example, your lungs are absolutely INCREDIBLE! Your lungs are made of alveoli, bronchi, bronchioles, which all help you breath and exit out carbon dixode and breathe in oxygen. Like, did you know that your left lung is smaller than your right lung? Yep, you heard me. But don't think that just because your left lung is smaller, you might be in danger. It's only smaller to accomadate your heart. (Your heart is about the size of your fist, so, of course the left lung would have to be smaller to fit the heart.) But, besides that, we should talk your other organs too. Your stomach, let's see here..Your stomach acid, the stuff that breaks down your food, is acidic enough to burn skin. Yep, your stomach holds a very dangerous "chemical" if you think of it. But, don't be scared, there's a slimy lining between the acid and your stomach to prevent it from spilling out! But, if you're still afraid, you can just..Remove your stomach. (You can live without it. There are people in the world who were born or developed a condition where they don't have one and use a bag instead.)
