Applicant must be an African American male high school senior attending high school in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk or Virginia Beach; be enrolled in college by Fall 2019 to receive scholarship; have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 (C+). Must submit a high school transcript; proof of Voter registration based on eligibility to vote in November 2019; an essay explained on attached application between 250-300 words.
Applicant must be an African American male; have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application submission; be a graduating high school senior from a Portsmouth, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk or Virginia Beach high school; provide two letters of reference (one from an academic staff member: teacher, school counselor, or administrator) from the applicants high school , and the second letter from a community leader or someone who has directly managed the student; submit an essay containing a minimum of 300 words expressing your views on the symbolic (Take a Knee) gesture that aims to bring attention to the oppression of black people and people of color in America; attach an official high school transcript.
Applicant must be a graduating senior residing in Virginia Beach, VA; be an African American Male; have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5; be accepted to an accredited two or four-year College or University. Must submit an official copy of current high school transcript; a resume; one-page biography (Who Am I) with passport size photo attached; a copy of SAT or ACT scores; a copy of college/university acceptance letter; two letters of recommendation from adult non-family members; applicant profile form; applicant package check list; a 500-750-word (type written, double spaced, 12-point font) essay on the following topic: What is Institutional Racism as you believe it to be and its effects on the African American Community.
Applicants must be young ladies who are graduating seniors; are interested in being a debutante. Have good character and be well rounded.
Applicants must reside in Virginia Beach and have attended a Virginia Beach High School; be an African American Female; have a current GPA of 3.0 or higher; be attending any college or university in the Fall; attach a sealed official high school transcript; submit two letters of recommendation (one must be from a high school teacher or counselor); 250 word essay describing haw a teacher has made a positive impact on your life; submit a video answering the interview questions.
Applicants must reside in Virginia Beach and attend a Virginia Beach High School; be an African American female; have a current GPA of 3.0 or higher; be attending a Historically Black College & University in the Fall; submit a sealed official high school transcript; two letters of recommendation from individuals with personal knowledge of the applicants abilities must accompany the scholarship application (one must be from a high school teacher or counselor); 200 word essay describing why you attended a Historically Black College & University; and submit a video answering the interview questions.
