Hi, I am Sophia from the Impact Academy. Now I won’t lie when I was little I hated science with a passion. But last year my friend took me to a girls science program at YSU at the program a bunch of empowering women came to talk about their professions and at that moment I fell in love with chemical engineering. I plan to have a master’s degree or a doctorate. Ever since I was going to school my parents pushed me to have good grades that drove me to have higher standards of myself. Today I see my self trying to help the world.
As a student, I strive to have good grades. I plan on helping my community to plan in the future. I plan on helping through speech and debate and student council. I love doing speech and debate. Ever since I was little I loved to sell and present speeches to my parents. Since I went to catholic schools for three years that made me behind in math. Math is like a puzzle with a million pieces with a hundred of them missing. In the first quarter, I gained so much satisfaction from science I love how everything I learn makes sense and I feel like when I learn about science that almost close to it.
Over my middle school years, I have been in speech and debate witch I love. I also have gone to The science for girls program at YSU. Every year I help the community by working at my church for festivals. Also, I have done weeding projects with my mom. Sometimes my mom and I would talk about our plans for the future. I also enjoy the sport pickleball. Pickleball teaches me how to play hard with others and it helps with focusing. I love to read and bake these are my favorite hobbies when I read I go into a different world. Also, I have been in the band playing the claireinet for all my middle school years. I've been playing softball for four years. All these hobbies helped me become a confident independent person.
