Here are some basics regarding Onshape and CAD

What is CAD?

 

 

CAD stands for computer aided design. Often used for part or system prototyping in a virtual environment in engineering, architecture, and graphic design. CAD can be used to prototype virtually and physically through the use of 3D printing. That only makes me question my existence sometimes.

What is Onshape?

 

 

Onshape is a browser based CAD software that allows for multiple people to work on the same project at the same time.

How to create an Onshape account

From the page, choose from professional, educational, or Onshape for makers.

You’ll get a free plan if you pick to sign up with an Educational or Onshape for Makers account.

After selecting a plan, Onshape will ask for some more additional information you should fill in to finish setting up your account.
