La Llorona origins in Mexico, the story states a lady named Maria who married a rich rachero and had two children with him. One day she caught her husband cheating and out of rage she drowned her children in a river. She is immediatly devistated and decides to drown herself as well. In the afterlife she is told her soul is only allowed to pass once she finds her children. Son now she goes around calling out " mis ninos" and thats where she gets her name, La Llorona. This legend is most commonly told in Mexico but is wildly known in America. In 2019 a movie version was released, " The Curse of La Llorona".
