In YouTube, Wojcicki had a major role in 2006 and was appointed CEO from 2014 to 2023, which somewhat set up new YouTube applications, but the mysterious controversies being concerned of the current content made Wojcicki better to work for cooling down the following people and handling controversies. Yet, she still had made improvement for content moderation through the YouTube family.
A ton of controversy came over when Federal Trade Commission (FTC) enabled the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) at 2020. Before COPPA came to YouTube, in 2017, disturbing content through kids videos in both YouTube and YouTube Kids. YouTube was fined for $170 million for violating COPPA and Wojcicki admitted that she didn't allow her children to watch YouTube. So, she addressed the concerns of video creators to take a break without the business being harmed.
