Security Principles

One of the most basic and most important parts of online security is a password. Passwords are important because they give your account a strong layer of protection to prevent from hackers getting in and stealing your information like banking info, Social Security number, or Date of Birth.

You don't want to make a password to easy, otherwise hackers can brute force into it and steal your information that way. Here's a list on how to make a strong password:

  • Make the password long.
  • Use characters to replace letters.
  • Avoid using easy to guess passwords, like the word password.
  • Enable 2fa
  • Don't share your passwords with anyone.

PGP, which means an email encryption program, is used by people who want to keep what they talk with others about private. They might use sources like ProtonMail to prevent certain types of attacks like malware or Spam.
