The golden retriever is a large-sized gun dog that retrieves shot waterfowl, such as ducks and upland game birds, during hunting and shooting parties. Golden retrivers are great family dogs they will watch your child and alarm you if they think something is wrong. They alert you either by barking or going crazy. They hate it when someone is being hurt. They are gentle and kind dogs.
