Elements and Planets

Zodiacs have elements as well as planets. For planets, there are zodiacs that have ruling planets. The ruling planets for zodiacs are the ones you normally know and some others. The elements are fire, air, earth, and water. There are four zodiacs in each element. The elements also represent their traits and personality. Read more to find out!

Fire

The fire signs are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. Fire signs tend to be passionate, dynamic, and temperamental. (4). Aries is a fire sign because "Aries tends to act before speaking, facing situations and challenges head-on" explains an astronomer named Montúfar. She says "this is also the sign of the zodiac that can be the most competitive, as it likes to be first." Joyce explains "Leos are a fixed fire sign that knows how to look inside themselves." If you're a fixed sign it means your Sun sign falls into the fixed quadruplicity, and is associated with traits of determination, stability, and following through on goal. She also says "Leos are not afraid of doing the work to be the best." Sagittarius is the mutable fire sign. If your sun sign falls into the mutable quadruplicity, this means you're super flexible and easy-going. "They are the tireless seeker of truth," Montúfar says. With a Sagittarius, passion becomes inspiration, Joyce says. They take the insight and passion that fire gives them and translate it into wisdom, she explains. (5).

Air

The air signs are Gemini, Libra, Aquarius. It is interesting to notice that two of them have a problem with the Sun, Libra taking it to fall and Aquarius to detriment. (6). Air signs are all about action, ideas, and motion. They are the "winds of change". (4). Aquarius is an air sign because it deals with ideas, information, and thinking. The air sign for Aquarius is a symbol. Aquarius is the water bearer, which stands as a symbol, for pouring out information and knowledge to others. (8). Gemini is a mutable sign. Meaning they are the last sign of the season. They don't like things to stay the same and are always ready for new beginnings (7). Libra is an air sign represented by the scales and association that reflects Libra's fixation on balance and harmony. Libra is obsessed with symmetry and strives to create equilibrium in all areas of life. (9).

Earth

The earth signs are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. (4). Taurus is an Earth sign represented by the bull. Taureans aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and work hard to earn big rewards. They are ambitious, focused, and resilient. (10). Virgos are logical, practical, and systematic in their approach to life. This earth sign is a perfectionist at heart and isn't afraid to improve skills through diligent and consistent practice. (11). Capricorn is a cardinal earth sign, meaning they have powerful initiatory energy combined with the stabilizing and grounded influence of the earth element. Capricorns express many earthly, grounded, and stable traits. (12).

Water

The water signs are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. They are intuitive, emotional, and sensitive, water signs can be mysterious as the ocean itself. (4). Cancer is a cardinal water sign. Represented by the crab, oceanic crustacean seamlessly weaves between the sea and shore, representing Cancer's ability to exist in both emotional and material. (15). Scorpio is one of the most misunderstood signs of the zodiac. Because of its incredible passion and power, Scorpio is often mistaken for a fire sign. In fact, Scorpio is a water sign that derives its strength from the psychic, emotional realm. Scorpio is extremely clairvoyant and intuitive. (14). Pisces is symbolized by two fish swimming in opposite directions, representing the constant division of Pisces's attention between fantasy and reality. Pisces can easily become swallowed by emotions and must remember to stay grounded in the material realm. (13).
