#4 Primal Groudon

Home Primal Groudon

Peak Is In Generation 7

In fifth place we have Primal Groudon. This Pokémon is explosive, literally. It both lives in volcanoes and can deal massive bunches of damage, so let's take a look at how.

Stats

HP: 100
Attack: 180
Defense: 160
Special Attatck: 150
Special Defense: 90
Speed: 90

Primal Groudon has a 100 base stat total increase from regular Groudon. Primal Groudon is somewhat slow, especially when compared to other Pokémon that don't use Trick Room, but Primal Groudon is too fast to be good in Trick Room. Every other stat is amazing, however. It has really good bulk with a even with its 90 special defense as it has a 100 base HP and a whopping 160 defense. It has a 180 base attack making it one of the hardest hitters ever and it has 150 special attack, making it a good special attacker if you wanted it to.

Moveset

Primal Groudon's moveset is really good, as it is a great moveset for a physical attacker that could work as a special attacker..

Precipice Blades is a 120 base power move that hits both targets and has an 85% chance to hit. Stone Edge is a good physical rock move and Rock Tomb is a move that lowers the target's speed. Overheat and Fire Blast are both good special fire type moves and eruption is a special fire type moves that hits both targets and base power depends on the amount of HP the user has. Dragon Pulse is a special dragon type move and the rest of the moves are set up moves. Swords Dance raises the user's attack by two stages, Rock Polish does the same thing but for speed, and Stealth Rock sets the status Stealth Rocks wich deals damage every time a Pokémon switches in on the opponent's side.

Ability

Primal Groudon is the better form of Groudon which has the ability Drought, which sets up the sun as the weather effect. Sun boosts fire type moves and lowers water type moves power. Primal Groudon has Desolate Land, which is better sun. It is one of the three primal weathers so it can't be overwritten by normal weathers and it can overwrite the other two primal weathers, but it still can be overwritten by other two primal weathers. Desolate Land also has the bonus effect of making water type moves do nothing.

This Pokémon Is Amazing

Why Not Higher Up

Primal Groudon is absolutely amazing. It is only missing one thing that I think could let it become one of the best. It is missing Dragon Dance. It does have Swords Dance and Rock Polish, but that costs two separate move slots. Other than that, this Pokémon is great, making it #4.

Conclusion

This Pokémon is one of the best. Primal Groudon has an insane moveset for both its attack and supporting forms. The only reason this is not #1 is because I don't feel like it. I also guess Dragon Dance caused that too, but it's because I don't feel like it. Whenever this Pokémon comes away from the pits of the forgotten Pokémon, this could once again dominate the game.
