hello ♥
(apart from gender dysphoria) don't like the way you look? you're just not your type. that's all right. somebody else loves you for the way you are.
(mostly not my ideas! tumblr is the best)
- collect pictures of yourself from times when you feel/felt confident. then, when you're maybe not so good later, and feeling down when you look in the mirror, look at those pictures instead. remember how good you actually look, and remember that your bathroom light is probably not the most flattering on anyone.
- remember things you've done that you were proud of. remember there is so much beauty on the inside, and that you just can't see it because your eyeballs are facing the wrong direction.
- get your hair done, professionally, just the way you want it. look at reference pics on the internet and show them to a trusted stylist. it will work wonders, especially for those who suffer from gender dysphoria. hacking pieces off at 3 am is absolutely not good for you.
- if you can't get a haircut, or don't have hair, go thrift shopping. treat yourself if you find something you love. my thrifting advice is, if it's a maybe, try it on. if it's still a maybe after trying it on, don't get it. that process proved that the chance that you might regret spending that money is greater than the chance that you'll love it. keep looking. it's out there somewhere.
- shower with the lights off
- we stan big ol sweaters
when you feel like... | everyone else hates you | you hate everyone else | you hate yourself |
you should... | sleep. | eat. | shower. |
