Tip #1 ~ Don't stress over messing up because when you are beginning it won't be perfect, but as time goes on, you will improve.
Tip #2 ~ Practice nightly if you have a bell kit, if you don't, you can take a pizza box and draw a vipraphone to practice on.
Tip #3 ~ Ask your teacher/instructor if you have a question about any of your music or how to set up your equipment.
Tip #4 ~ ALWAYS have somebody help you move the vibraphone because it is very heavy and hard to move sometimes.
Tip #5 ~ Know your scales/chords because it makes it a lot easier on you
Tip #6 ~ Don't lock your hands or elbows when you are playing
Tip #7 ~ Have a loose grip on your mallets; If you do not have a loose grip on your mallets, it will eventually lead to your hands locking up
