Some items can't be crafted with a normal crafting table, either it's too strong or too big. The starcrafting table allows you to craft those items (you need a crafting table, a smithing table, a starcraft template, and a nether star), unlike the original, it has extended from 3x3 to 5x5. You can still craft normal items the same way on the starcrafting table, but there are new craftable or "Starcraftable" items are Reinforced deepslate, singularity box, Cosmite tools and armor, and more (spawn eggs and bedrock won't be craftable). If you try to craft these items on a normal crafting table, it will break either because it's too strong or it's unstable. If you just happen to have a stack of nether stars, you can use those in the slot in the top-right slot to increase the stability (maximum is 6), but some items require you to do that
The Starcrafting table isn't always perfect at crafting, there will be a chance that the starcrafting recipe won't work, which is because of Starcrafting Stability. there will be a stability for each starcraftable item depending on how unstable it is. the more unstable the starcrafting recipe is, the higher the chance of starcraft failure is. If it fails, it will give you the ingredients back but there's a chance for 1 of the ingredients to not come back, if it happens, then you'll have to find/make it again.
