What I would like to study in UCLA is Latin and Greek. This major is focused on ancient Rome, therefore we would get to learn it's "language, literature, religion, mythology, philosophy, political history, cultural studies, archaeology, art, and film." To learn more, take a look at the college page here.
Learning Greek would improve many things and would lead me to great career opertunities. According to Google, it "Develops logic, memory, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, reports Tribeca Language." By learning Greek, it "Opens doors in academia, archaeology, history, theology, tourism, and international business."
I would enjoy learning Latin because, according to Google, it "Strengthens analytical, logical, and systematic thinking through linguistic puzzle-solving." Also, "Studies show Latin students often score higher on standardized tests like the SAT/GRE." Despite being very helpful, I really like learning different languages. Latin seems very fun to learn and once learned, learning other languages, like French (another language I would like to learn), would be much easier.
Learning about ancient Rome helps with understanding how it impacts our modern world. We will be able to understand that what happened in the past, effected the future. We also learn about ethicity, the errors and mistakes, and art in the Roman Empire.
