In 1920, the 19th Amendment had passed. After approximately 72 years of fighting, women had accomplished the right to vote. With years of protesting and hardships, they were successful.
In 1963, the Equal Pay Act was signed over by John F. Kennedy. This was formed to end the pay discrimination women faced in their work environment.
In 1971, Gloria Steinem created the first magazine to talk about real issues concerning the discrimination that women face. It later became the first magazine to have featured the topic of domestic violence on the cover.
