So you came to this page expecting information about how to manage RC. And you will be getting information about how to manage it, but first, I'd like to talk to you about how RC kind of requires more than just equipment management. It requires Racing/ Running Management.
First, you need to learn how to drive a car correctly and safely. And the best way to do that is to practice driving any RC car. It could be in your driveway, a relative's houses, or even at your local park (but I guess this only applies to hobby-grade RC cars). If you have a hobby-grade RC car, it means that you can purchase replacement parts to repair the car incase it breaks. And that happens quite often when you're heavily bashing an RC car.
If you are using a Nitro RC car, then you are smelling intoxicating exhaust fumes, and hearing that nice engine idling noise. But you may have to consider other people when you are running a nitro RC car, because some engines idle at 90 decibels, which around the same amount of noise as a lawnmower. And most people at a park would probably get disturbed with high noise. So I guess you are better off with getting a small to medium size electric RC car, just because electric RC cars are less pollutive, less maintenance-necessary, and they are much quicker and responsive than a typical Nitro RC.
The cons of purchasing an electric RC are: Risk of Li-Po(Lithium-Polymer) battery fires, ESC/ motor Fires, and/or faulty RTR parts. The cons of purchasing a nitro are: Engine Fires, Runaways (loss of control due to low battery power, and ulimately destroys your car), and people complaning about the noise and smell.
But I feel that every RC car is different and they always have room for improvement. So you can actually fix all these problems just by buying aftermarket parts that people have tried that are reliable. And It wouldn't be difficult to upgrade your car, it would just be a matter of choosing parts that are reliable and easy to use. After that, then you just need to put them onto your car and run it to see if it goes good. And besides all the cons, every car has more pros than cons.
