There are two types of persian cats: The peek face/traditional (which have smushed in faces) and the doll face (they have regular faces that look like a regular American Shorthair).
I personally prefer the peek face which makes them extra special! If you like the peek face like I do, there is one bad thing which is how they have more health issues so they might needed a check-up.
Persians are all round with a rounded face, ears, eyes, etc., which is especially true for the peek faced Persians and their flat, round, faces.
Persians are known to be from Persia/Iran which is where the name came from. They are a very long lived breed which was discovered in the 1600s.
They weigh around 7 to 12 pounds and their length ranging between 14 and 17 inches. These cats live up to 15 to 20 years and are very affectionate, sweet, and gentle cats.
Persians are such fun cats and are very popular coming in at fourth for the most popular cat breeds in the world and on some websites at first through third.
Persians are thought of to be royal cats and are around $1000 to $5000 (which is quite expensive as you can tell). Persian cats are also rich in fur with thick coats so it is fun to pet their fluffy fur even if they shed a bit.
If you have ever heard of Exotic Shorthair cats and not Persians, they are basically peek face Persians accept with shorter fur and are a bit newer of a breed so, technically, Persians are the ancestors of Exotic Shorthairs.
Overall, Persian cats are amazing cats and have a cool history and are definetly one of the top breeds of cats!
