Elephants have trunks to eat and drink. The long trunk alleviates this by allowing the elephant to graze the ground or trees for food without so much as moving their heads.
Elephants incisors grow into tusks. These tusks serve as weapons and as tools for moving objects and they sue them for digging.
Elephants flap their ears to express excitement and/or joy. The beating of the ears can most definitely be heard. This sound causes other elephants to prick up their ears to get inot contact wiht the first elephant. However, when it is hot elephants flap their ears primarily to cool themselves down.
