Eurasian otters are known for their playful spirits!
Eurasian otters have long, slender bodies with short legs, and widely set eyes and ears.
Adult Eurasian otters usually range from 57cm to 95cm in length and from 7 to 12 kilograms in weight.
They usually live near sources of freshwater in Asia, Europe, and Northern Africa.
Eurasian otters live until 5-12 years, but some in captivity have gone up to 22 years.
They mainly fish but they also somtimes eat birds, small animals, and frogs.
They are mostly nocturnal and like to hunt for fish at night.
On average, 2-3 cubs were born weighing 100 grams covered with pale gray fur.
Ususally, they are in groups of five to six animals.
Unfortunately these cute little animals are facing extinction.
The main cause being oil and chemical spills, as well as river bank destruction in process to building new roads.
