River Otters are mainly known for playful behavior, similar to the behavior of Eurasian Otters.
They have long agile bodies that can bend to quickly twist, turn, roll and dive.
Adult river otters weigh 4.5 to 15 kilograms and are 76 to 152 centimeters in length.
They live in freshwater, but more commonly rivers, hence the name.
Most of them live until 12 years but the longest recorded one was 27 years old.
They eat a variety of different aquatic wildlife, such as fish, crayfish, crabs, frogs, birds' eggs, birds and reptiles such as turtles.
They have a high metabolism so they have to eat very often.
These otters are capable a lot of different vocalizations, such as whistles to buzzes and twitters.
River Otters breed in late winter and early spring, they first learn to swim after about 2 months.
