Living Conditions
-Salamanders usually live around damp moist and humid areas. You can commonly find them around lakes, rivers, and bodies of water.
-Salamanders are Amphibians, which means they can live in a mix of both water and land
-Salamanders prefer shaded areas too. Usually hollow logs and Rocks. Most Salamanders arent toxic to the touch so finding them should be easy Salamanders are known to be sort of shy so you should never make any sudden moves when around them. Instead, be slow when observing them and make sure not to get too close unless you know exactly what type of salamander it is. Make sure not to touch them in the wild, otherwise you should be safe around them.
Eating Habits
-Most species of salamanders love to eat small animals like spiders, worms, mosquito larvae, and flies
-Salamanders live almost everywhere in the US but they are most commonly found in the North West
Reproduction
-A lot of species lay almost 500 eggs at a time so they need to lay them in shady moist spots. This could be the underside of rocks, the underside of wood, cracks in rocks and other small places where they can have shade and moisture
Salamander Species
-There are many different types of salamanders below is a table that shows the most common salamander types and what differentiates them from eachother.
Pets??
-Salamanders can be pets. I don't reccommend taking them from the wild but buying them from some pet store. You should always have the best possible habitat for salamanders because they have their picky preferences.
