History of Basketball

Basketball was created by James Naismith. The objective of the game was to shoot a ball into the basket. Eventually different basketball leagues formed. In 1946 the NBL and BAA merged to form the NBA. The first NBA game played was the Toronto Huskies and the New York Knickerbockers. The first ever point scored in the NBA was by Ossie Schectman on the Knickerbockers.
